About the operation

We work with medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence.

LARO is the treatment within addiction care that saves the most lives. What our patients have in common is an addiction to opioids; beyond that, you can meet all types of people, and our clinics range from harm reduction interventions to supporting individuals who are well established in society. Within the operation in Gothenburg, we have four outpatient clinics and a mobile team. We work with differentiated care where patients can be in active use, in early remission, or long-term remission regarding their opioid dependence. Patients in our operation look different and have different needs. Treatment goals, division of responsibilities, interventions, and controls are therefore differentiated and adapted to the individual patient's needs and circumstances. Within the operation, doctors, social workers, treatment assistants, midwives, nurses, caregivers, and medical secretaries work in teams. Utilizing each other's competencies is an important part of our work.

Our mission includes psychosocial and medical treatment, coordination and planning of care and interventions. Conducting good collaboration with care neighbors is fundamental to meeting the patient's needs. Contact with and other stakeholders such as social services, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Prison and Probation Service, and the Employment Service is part of the work.

What we can offer you

We have an employee going on parental leave and are now offering a temporary position for 11 months. With us at LARO, you will receive an individually tailored introduction and mentorship, with internal training regarding opioid dependence as well as the opportunity to observe in our other units if desired. In the Addiction Operation, you are offered everything from basic training in psychiatry to advanced knowledge in addiction.

Job responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you have a flexible job and work closely with other colleagues. You are responsible for the care of our patients and participate in medication administration, sampling, assessment, and documentation. You are active in collaboration meetings and conduct motivational work together with the patient, based on their needs. The work is mainly scheduled during daytime on weekdays, but weekend duty every 12th weekend is included. Our weekend clinic is located at Östra Hospital from 08:00 to 13:00.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse with an interest in working with individuals with substance use disorders.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in LARO care, addiction care, and/or psychiatry.
• Experience in relapse prevention work, as well as motivational work according to MI.
• Experience with the documentation system Melior.

The work requires you to have personal maturity. It is important to us that you have an empathetic approach towards our patients. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
